The Islamic Center of Orlando

The Islamic Center of Orlando interior design delivers a serene, light-filled worship environment that balances contemporary minimalism with the rich geometric traditions of Islamic architecture. At the heart of the prayer hall, a recessed circular dome illuminated by concentric cove lighting anchors the space, casting a soft cool-blue glow across the matte-white ceiling and walls. A custom pointed-arch mihrab frames the qibla wall, its flanks detailed in gold geometric lattice panels that catch and reflect the warm recessed spotlighting. Deep teal broadloom carpet runs wall-to-wall, its surface inlaid with continuous gold-patterned bands that organize prayer rows while reinforcing the hall's bilateral symmetry. Tall arched windows along the side walls wash the interior in natural daylight, punctuated by mounted gold Arabic calligraphy plaques. The adjoining wudu (ablution) area extends the same material discipline: large-format veined white marble, a warm-grey matte tile fixture wall, and a continuous frameless mirror that doubles the perceived depth of the room. Raised platforms with glossy white cylindrical stools and brushed-chrome faucets line the wall, paired with a stainless-steel dispenser bank and a tucked-in trough sink accented by greenery. Throughout the lobby and transitions, cream marble flooring with inset gold geometric motifs, green-glow tray ceilings, and a brass starburst chandelier tie the circulation sequence back to the prayer hall's palette—white volumes, gold accents, and teal underfoot.
